The Altera Musica ensemble's leader

 

Ufa Arts Institute's (Moscow Gnesins Institute's branch) graduate (1976, prof. M.Kochurov's class). Professor and concertmaster of Samara Shatalov's Music College . Laureate of the regional ‘Teacher of the Year' Contest (1997), ‘Concertmaster of the Year' Contest (1998, 2000). In October, 2002 participated in active workshops and educative programs of the Vth International Early Music Festival (Saint-Petersburg). For many years Olga Ostrovskaya has been giving concerts (before the Altera Musica foundation – as one of the best and most professional accompanists for vocalists and instrumentalists).

In 1998, founded the Early music ‘Altera Musica' ensemble.

At present is Head of “Early Music” Arts Union on the base of Educational Institutions Methods Office of the Samara Region Culture Department. Art director of Samara Bach's Society. Organizer of various Early Music Festivals in Samara. Author and presenter of every week's program about early music on the interregional ‘Rodnoe' radio station.

O.Ostrovskaya has initiated many creative projects of the ensemble. Following her initiative, the ensemble works on new ways of the concert performance which include recitations in addition to music, musicologist's commentaries, the elements of play-acting combined with educational orientation.
